2021-22 Traveling Softball 14U-16U (Fall 2021 thru Spring/Summer 2022) Details

Our mission is to create an enjoyable, memorable yet competitive experience for girls, providing instructional guidance at an intermediate to advanced level in the fundamentals and competition of fast pitch softball.

Age is determined by birthday on or before January 1 in the year of the summer season. Proof of age is required to participate in tournaments.

AGE BRACKET IS CLASSIFIED AS:

14U - Girls born in 2007 & 2008

16U - Girls born in 2005 & 2006

The level of play at 14U will be determined by the coach at the time of team formation. The 14U team is considered a "Select" team that could include girls that are not from Rosemount High School boundry zone and the team roster is at the discretion of the head coach. 

The level of play at 16U will be determined by the coach at the time of team formation. Thes 16U team is considered a 'Select' team that could include girls that are not from Rosemount High School boundry zone and the team roster is at the discretion of the Head Coach.

Fees: 

  • $25 Non-refundable Tryout Fee   (Applied against 1st installment pmt if place on team)                                                                                                                                     
  • 14U fees $750 (2 installments: 1st installment due when placed on team & 2nd installment due in Jan 2022)
    • Includes:
      • Fall Jersey (Additional uniform items available for purchase during registration check-out)
      • Spring/Summer Uniform (Jersey (2), pants, belt, socks)
      • 6 paid tournaments (including 1 winter dome tournament) plus 1 Rosemount hosted tournament;
      • 2021 Tri-County Fall League play;
      • Tri-County or Gold 2022 Summer League Play;
      • Off-season Wednesday & Friday night Dome training in Rosemount including hitting instruction; (this is a rough schedule of events and is subject to change)                       
  • 16U fees $750 (2 installments: 1st installment due when placed on team & 2nd installment due in Jan 2022)
    • Includes:

*Please note: There will be no refunds offered after August 19th. 

 

Try-outs:

Mandatory try-outs for ROSEMOUNT 14U & 16U teams are on Wednesday, August 11 with a rainout date of Thursday, August 12 from 5 - 8 pm at Erickson Park.

Try-outs will include: hitting, bunting, fielding, pop flies, base running and pitching/catching(if applicable). There may also be a short scrimmage at the end.

 

Teams Formation: 

A communication will be sent to individual girls by Monday, August 16 as to whether they have made a team. Girls that are not initially selected for a team will be put on a waiting list. Girls selected for a team and wishing to play with Rosemount MUST accept by paying their invoiced $350 non-refundable 1st installment fee by August 18. Girls not selected for a team should contact the Program Director for other opportunities at neighboring associations.

 

Schedule:

Girls that are selected for a Rosemount 14U or 16U team are expected to be with that team during the Fall season, off-season training/tournaments and the 2022 Spring Season. Alternate scheduling should be worked out on an individual basis with the head coach.

 

Fall Season - Games Scheduled as follows:

Games will be scheduled on Sunday afternoons for 14U & 16U.  Game times usually 12:00pm & 1:30pm or 3:00pm & 4:30pm.

  • League
    • Week 1 - August 21-22
    • Week 2 - August 28-29
    • Week 3 – September 11-12
    • Week 4 – September 18-19

The league games will consist of two games at a single site.

  • State Tournament   (all teams participate)
    • September 25-26

 

Off-Season Training - Schedule:

Wed 5:30-6:30 pm & Fri 5:30-7:00  (Nov - Feb)

 

2022 Spring/Summer Season - Practice/Games Schedule:

Tuesday & Thursday  (subject to change pending league scheduling).  The league games will consist of two games at a single site.

 

Equipment: 

Bases, balls and catchers equipment provided.  Players must purchase their own sliding pad, sliding shorts, glove, cleats (metal is acceptable) and bat.

Traveling Softball recommends 14U and 16U have the ASA approved Rip-It Vision Pro: Gloss-Home-Navy helmet with chin strap.   Defensive face masks are highly recommended at these levels but not mandatory.

Volunteer Requirements:   

Parents in all age groups are expected to work a set amount of hours at the Rosemount hosted games/tournaments in the Fall and Spring. Volunteer hours will be communicated at a later time.

To insure the volunteer hours are worked, all parents are required to provide a volunteer check ($300 Fall / $300 Spring) to the coach/team manager or at uniform try-on/pickup events, which are destroyed upon completetion of their volunteer hours.  

Please note: If you are unable to work your hours, you may have someone work in your place.  This person must be at least 15 years or older.
