2018 In-House Basketball, 1st-2nd Grade (October - December 2018) Details

RAAA First and Second grade basketball program is a developmental program where we will strive to promote a positive and enjoyable culture where kids can learn the fundamentals of basketball, team play, and sportsmanship while having fun playing the game of basketball. This age group league is a combination of 1 practice a week and 1 game on Saturdays.

Cost:     $75****You can also sign your 1st-2nd grader up for Winter Skills Clinics, which will take place during January - Early February. Please see separate registration page for this opportunity.  If you register your 1st-2nd grader for both In-House Basketball and Skills Clinics at the same time, you will receive a $10 combo discount  at checkout.

Grades: Boys and girls in First and Second grade (2018-19). They will be separated boys and girls. Depending on numbers for girls, 1st/2nd grade girls may be combined.

Key Dates (subject to change):

Monday, October 8th: Parent and Coaches Meeting 6:30 pm RCC auditorium. We would like all parents and coaches to attend as lots of new information to share.

Saturday, October 13th: Kick off Players/Coaches Clinic . Time and Site to be determined by number of teams. These will take place between 8 am-Noon on that Saturday.

Saturday, October 27th: Pictures, TBA time and place

Friday, November 30th: Meet the Irish Night with RHS Boys and Girls basketball teams! A night to meet the players, play games and get excited for the Basketball season!

Saturday, December 15th: Last Saturday of games.

Team Formation: Each team will consist of 8-10 players. If possible will have a head coach and an assistant coach.

Friend Requests:  Only 1 mutual request for team placement for a friend or coach is looked at. For example, if Player A wants to be a teammate of Player B, Player A must request Player B and Player B must request Player A. Please note that we cannot guarantee these requests.  Requests are only accepted during the registration process (please place in the Comment section) -- requests from late registrants cannot be accepted.  Due to the complexity of team formations, we are only able to honor one mutual request.

Coaching Opportunities:    The 1st & 2nd grade league is a parent-coached program, so volunteer coaches are needed. All coaches will need to go through background check, concussion training and PCA training. We will need head and assistant coaches. Please consider giving a bit of your time and talent!!!
